Unit Fraction

Unit fractions are used to represent one part out of the total parts. 

For example,

1 slice of pizza out of 6 slices.

1 apple out of 8 apples.

Remember: The numerator of a unit fraction is always 1. 

Like & Unlike Fractions

Like Fractions have the same denominators.

Unlike Fractions have different denominators.

Proper Fractions

Fractions with the numerator less than the denominator are called proper fractions.

For Example,

2/3

2<3 i.e., N<D. It’s a proper fraction. 

Proper fractions represent a part less than a whole.
